Care, watering, light and tips for Maidenhair fern on Floravia.
Adiantum flabellum, also known as Kangadja kopokopo, is a delicate and elegant fern native to New Caledonia. Its finely divided, bright green fronds cluster in a distinctive fan shape, making it a beautiful and airy addition to terrariums, shade gardens, or as a potted indoor plant.
It requires bright, indirect light or partial shade; direct sunlight will scorch its delicate fronds. Keep the substrate consistently moist but avoid waterlogging, as it is prone to root rot; a well-draining, organic-rich substrate is ideal. Ensure high ambient humidity by misting regularly or placing the pot on a pebble tray with water. A common mistake is allowing the substrate to dry out completely, which causes the fronds to quickly wilt and dry.
