About European field elm
Ulmus minor, commonly known as field elm or lundalm, is a medium to large deciduous tree, valued for its hardiness and dense, oval crown. Its leaves are a glossy dark green, turning yellow in autumn. It is ideal for urban tree planting, parks, and large gardens, providing shade and structure to the landscape.

Care tips
It prefers full sun to partial shade and deep, fertile, well-drained soils, although it tolerates a wide range of conditions. Watering should be regular during the first few years to establish the tree, and then moderate, as it tolerates drought well once established. Avoid waterlogging, as it can encourage root diseases. A common mistake is not protecting it from Dutch elm disease, a devastating fungal disease.
