About Monanthes wildpretii
Monanthes wildpretii, known as Pelotilla de Chinamada, is a small succulent endemic to Tenerife, forming dense rosettes of fleshy, rounded leaves, ranging from grayish-green to reddish. Its compact size and growth habit make it ideal for rock gardens, small pots, or as part of succulent arrangements, adding a delicate and unique touch. It blooms with small, pale yellow star-shaped flowers, adding extra charm.

Care tips
It requires full sun to bright partial shade exposure to maintain its coloration and compact form; lack of light can cause etiolation. Watering should be moderate during the growing season (spring-summer) and very sparse in winter, allowing the substrate to dry completely between waterings to prevent rot. Use a very well-draining substrate, specific for cacti and succulents, to mimic its natural habitat. A common mistake is overwatering, which can be fatal for this species, especially in humid climates.
