About Sempervivum pittonii
Sempervivum pittonii, also known as Serpentin-Hauswurz, is a low-growing perennial succulent that forms compact rosettes of fleshy, grayish-green to reddish leaves, often with darker tips. Individual rosettes can reach 5-10 cm in diameter and it produces pale yellow, star-shaped inflorescences in summer. It is ideal for rock gardens, green roofs, pots, and as ground cover in dry, sunny areas, adding a touch of resilience and subtle beauty.

Care tips
It requires full sun to maintain its coloration and compact shape, although it tolerates some partial shade in very hot climates. Watering should be sporadic and moderate, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings to prevent rot, especially in winter. It needs a very well-draining, preferably sandy or mineral substrate, specifically for cacti and succulents. A common mistake is overwatering, which is the main cause of its demise.
