Kalanchoe houghtonii, commonly known as 'Mother of Thousands' or 'Aranto', is a striking hybrid succulent renowned for the tiny plantlets that sprout from the margins of its leaves. Its leaves are elongated, fleshy, and grayish-green, often with reddish hues when exposed to strong sunlight. This plant is ideal for succulent collectors, low-maintenance gardens, or as an indoor potted plant where its unique propagation method can be closely observed.

Care tips
It requires bright, direct sunlight for at least 4-6 hours daily to maintain compact growth and good coloration; insufficient light can cause it to etiolate. Water only when the substrate is completely dry to the touch, reducing watering in winter to prevent root rot. It prefers a very well-draining substrate, specifically formulated for cacti and succulents. A common mistake is overwatering, which quickly leads to stem and root rot.
