About Rosularia
Rosularia sempervivum, also known as bolltaklök, is a small perennial succulent forming compact rosettes, reminiscent of Sempervivum, with fleshy grayish-green leaves sometimes tinged with red. It is ideal for rockeries, green roofs, gravel gardens, or small containers, adding an architectural and low-maintenance touch. Its small white or pink flowers emerge on short stalks during summer.
Native range
Turkey, the Caucasus, and northern Iran.
Care tips
It needs full sun to thrive and maintain its compact shape, although it tolerates some partial shade in very hot climates. Water moderately in spring and summer, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, and drastically reduce watering in winter. Use a very well-drained substrate, specifically for cacti and succulents. Avoid overwatering at all costs, as it is the main cause of root rot in this species.
