About String of buttons
Crassula perforata, also known as 'radbandskrassula' or 'string of buttons', is an upright or trailing succulent characterized by its triangular leaves arranged in opposite pairs that stack along a stem, giving the appearance of a column or necklace. Its leaves are pale green with reddish margins when exposed to bright light, and its stems can branch profusely. It's ideal for hanging baskets, rock gardens, or as part of succulent arrangements, offering a unique texture and form.

This plant thrives in abundant direct sunlight to maintain its vibrant coloration and compact growth; a sunny indoor or outdoor spot (protected from the harshest midday summer sun) is perfect. Water only when the soil is completely dry to the touch, drastically reducing frequency in winter to prevent root rot. Use a very well-draining substrate, specifically formulated for cacti and succulents. Avoid overwatering at all costs, as it is the most common mistake leading to the demise of this plant.
