This species thrives in full sun, tolerating even the hottest and driest exposures. It is extremely drought-tolerant once established, requiring very occasional watering in summer and none in winter. It prefers well-drained soils, even poor or calcareous ones, and the main mistake to avoid is overwatering, which can lead to root rot.
