Care tips
It requires full sun to partial shade and deep, fertile, well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during dry periods, but avoid waterlogging to prevent root rot. A common mistake is harvesting stalks too young or excessively, which weakens the plant; wait until they are well-developed and do not remove more than one-third of the stalks at a time. Do not consume the leaves, as they are toxic.
