Care, watering, light and tips for Thrift on Floravia.
Armeria colorata, commonly known as trávnička farebná, is a compact perennial plant that forms dense cushions of dark green, linear leaves. It produces slender flower stalks that rise above the foliage, topped with striking spherical inflorescences in shades of pink, lilac, or white, resembling small pom-poms. It is ideal for rockeries, path edges, coastal gardens, or as a groundcover in sunny areas, providing a vibrant splash of color and interesting texture.
Iberian Peninsula and North Africa
This plant thrives in full sun for abundant flowering and compact growth. It is very drought-tolerant once established, so watering should be moderate, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings to prevent waterlogging. It flourishes in well-drained soils, even poor or sandy ones, and a common mistake to avoid is overwatering, which can lead to root rot and plant death.
