About Papaver strigosum
Papaver strigosum, commonly known as the bristly poppy, is an annual poppy distinguished by its stems and buds covered in stiff hairs. It produces solitary, vibrant red or intense orange flowers, often with a dark spot at the base of the petals, which sway gracefully in the breeze. It is ideal for wild meadows, roadside borders, or to add a rustic and natural touch to country-style gardens.

Care tips
It requires full sun for abundant flowering and well-drained soil, preferably poor to moderately fertile. Watering should be moderate, allowing the substrate to dry out between waterings, as it does not tolerate waterlogging. Sow directly in its final location in early spring or autumn, as it dislikes being transplanted. Avoid over-fertilizing, as this can promote foliage growth at the expense of flowers.
