Care, watering, light and tips for Water lily on Floravia.
Nymphaea marliacea, also known as the Latour-Marliac Waterlily, is a hardy waterlily hybrid renowned for its large, fragrant flowers in various colors (white, pink, yellow, red) that float majestically on the water's surface. Its round, glossy leaves add an ornamental touch to the pond, creating a spectacular focal point. It is ideal for medium to large ponds and water features, bringing elegance and vibrant color to any aquatic landscape.
Horticultural hybrid origin
This waterlily requires full sun (at least 6 hours daily) for optimal blooming. Keep the rhizome planted in a specific waterlily basket at the bottom of the pond, at a depth of 30-90 cm, depending on the variety. The substrate should be clay-based and nutrient-rich, avoiding floating organic soils. A common mistake is not fertilizing annually in spring with specific aquatic plant tablets, which reduces flowering.
