About Sacred lotus
The Sacred Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera) is a majestic aquatic plant, revered in many cultures for its large, fragrant flowers that rise gracefully above the water. Its peltate leaves, up to 60 cm in diameter, and its distinctive pink or white flowers, which can reach 30 cm, make it the center of attention in ponds, water gardens, and large containers. Care tips
The Sacred Lotus requires full sun, at least 6 hours daily, for abundant flowering. It should be planted in a rich, heavy (loamy) substrate at the bottom of a pond or large container, ensuring the water level covers the crowns by 5-15 cm. Keep the water clean and avoid disturbing the roots excessively, as they are sensitive. A common mistake is planting it in a container that is too small, which restricts its growth and flowering.
