About Indian borage
Coleus amboinicus, also known as Indian Borage or French Thyme, is an aromatic perennial herb from the Lamiaceae family, featuring fleshy, velvety leaves. Its bright green leaves, often with serrated edges, emit an intense aroma reminiscent of oregano. It is ideal for urban gardens, hanging baskets on balconies, or as an aromatic plant in sunny kitchens.

It prefers bright, indirect light; intense direct sun can scorch its leaves, but it needs good illumination for vigorous growth. Water when the top layer of the substrate feels dry to the touch, avoiding waterlogging which can lead to root rot. Use a well-draining substrate rich in organic matter. A common mistake is overwatering, which quickly leads to root rot.
