About Thymus algeriensis
Thymus algeriensis, or Algerian Thyme, is a low-growing, spreading perennial aromatic plant featuring small, elliptical grey-green leaves and tiny white to pale lilac flowers. Its foliage releases an intense, characteristic aroma when touched. It is ideal for rock gardens, gravel gardens, borders, or as a groundcover, adding texture and fragrance to Mediterranean landscapes.

Care tips
It requires full sun for optimal growth and abundant flowering. Watering should be sparse, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, as it is very drought-tolerant and susceptible to waterlogging. It prefers well-drained, sandy or stony soils, with a neutral to slightly alkaline pH. A common mistake is overwatering, which can lead to root rot; it's better to err on the side of dry than wet.
