About Forget-me-not
Myosotis sylvatica, commonly known as Woodland Forget-me-not, is a charming biennial or short-lived perennial plant that produces a profusion of tiny blue flowers with a yellow center. It forms dense mats of soft, hairy foliage, ideal for path edges, rock gardens, or as ground cover under deciduous trees, bringing a wild and romantic touch to the garden. Woodland Forget-me-nots prefer a location in partial shade or dappled shade, especially in warmer climates, and moist but well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Keep the substrate consistently moist, but avoid waterlogging, as they are sensitive to excessive water. A common mistake is planting them in full sun in hot areas, which can scorch their delicate leaves and reduce flowering. They self-seed readily, so if extensive propagation is not desired, spent flowers can be removed before they form seeds.
