About Cross gentian
Gentiana cruciata, also known as Cross Gentian or Star Gentian, is a perennial herbaceous plant from the Gentianaceae family, native to mountainous regions of Europe and Asia. It is characterized by its erect stems bearing opposite leaves and deep blue or violet tubular flowers, clustered in the upper leaf axils. It is ideal for alpine gardens or rockeries, adding a vibrant and natural splash of color.

Central and Southern Europe, extending to Western Asia.
Care tips
It requires full sun to partial shade exposure and well-drained soil, preferably calcareous or neutral, with good humus content. Watering should be moderate, keeping the substrate slightly moist but avoiding waterlogging, especially during dry periods. A common mistake is planting it in heavy or clay soils, which can lead to root rot. It tolerates cold well and does not need much fertilization.
