Dianthus zederbaueri, commonly known as Karanfil, is an attractive perennial plant from the Caryophyllaceae family, valued for its delicate, vibrantly colored flowers, often with fringed edges. It forms compact clumps of grayish-green foliage, ideal for rock gardens, borders, or pots where a touch of color and texture is desired. Its abundant and prolonged blooming makes it an excellent visual accent in any garden design.

It requires full sun exposure for optimal flowering, although it tolerates some partial shade in very hot climates. Watering should be moderate, allowing the substrate to dry out slightly between waterings to prevent waterlogging, to which it is very sensitive. It prefers well-drained, slightly alkaline or neutral soils, and a common mistake to avoid is overwatering, which can lead to root rot.
