Oreocereus leucotrichus, commonly known as 'Old Man Cactus', is a columnar cactus native to the mountainous regions of Peru and Bolivia. It is characterized by its stems covered in long, soft white hairs that give it a woolly appearance and protect it from intense sun. It requires direct sun exposure for most of the day for optimal growth and good flowering. Watering should be moderate in spring and summer, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, and practically nonexistent in winter.
