About Andean organ pipe cactus
Cereus hildmannianus, commonly known as the Hedge Cactus, is a fast-growing columnar cactus that can reach impressive heights in its natural habitat. Its segmented, bluish-green stems develop well-defined ribs and, with age, may branch, creating an architectural silhouette that makes it ideal as a focal point in xerophytic gardens or as a large potted specimen.

Care tips
It requires full sun for optimal growth and abundant flowering, tolerating some partial shade in very hot climates. Watering should be moderate during the growing season (spring-summer), allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, and almost none in winter. Use a well-draining substrate specific for cacti and avoid overwatering, as it is the most common cause of root rot in this species.
