Care, watering, light and tips for Christmas cactus on Floravia.
Schlumbergera russeliana, commonly known as Christmas Cactus, is an epiphytic cactus species native to the humid forests of Brazil. It is characterized by its flat, segmented green stems, which can be trailing or semi-erect, and its beautiful bright pink or red tubular flowers that appear in winter. It is an ideal plant for hanging baskets or to brighten up indoor spaces during the colder months.

It prefers bright, indirect light; direct sunlight can scorch its leaves. Keep the substrate slightly moist during flowering and reduce watering in summer. Use a well-draining substrate rich in organic matter, similar to what is used for orchids. Avoid cold drafts and sudden temperature changes, as these can cause bud drop.
