About Mammillaria petterssonii
Mammillaria petterssonii, commonly known as biznaga, is a small, globular or cylindrical cactus, solitary or clumping, with prominent tubercles and white radial spines that contrast with its darker central spines. It produces small pink or magenta flowers in a ring around its crown, adding a splash of color. It is ideal for cactus collections, rock gardens, or as an indoor potted plant, where its compact form and flowers can be admired up close.

Care tips
It requires bright, direct sunlight for most of the day for optimal growth and abundant flowering; a sunny outdoor spot or a south-facing window is ideal. Watering should be moderate in spring and summer, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, and almost none in winter. Use a very well-draining substrate, specific for cacti, with a good proportion of coarse sand or perlite. Avoid overwatering at all costs, as it is the most common cause of root rot in this species.
