About Mammillaria backebergiana
Mammillaria backebergiana, commonly known as a biznaga, is a small to medium-sized globular cactus, densely covered with white or yellowish spines that give it a cottony appearance. It produces small pink or purple flowers in a crown-like arrangement around its apex. This plant is ideal for cactus collections, rock gardens, or as a decorative potted plant, adding an exotic and low-maintenance touch.

Care tips
It requires direct or very bright sunlight for most of the day for optimal growth and abundant flowering. Watering should be moderate in spring and summer, allowing the substrate to dry completely between waterings, and almost none in winter. Use a very porous substrate with excellent drainage, specifically formulated for cacti. The most common mistake to avoid is overwatering, which can lead to root rot, especially in colder months.
