About Ferocactus
Ferocactus macrodiscus, known as the 'viznaga caballona', is a flattened globular cactus that can grow quite large over time, developing pronounced ribs and robust spines. Its unique shape and magenta or yellow flowers that bloom at the apex make it a majestic specimen for desert gardens, rockeries, or as a focal plant in large pots.

Care tips
It requires full sun for optimal growth and abundant flowering. Watering should be scarce, only when the substrate is completely dry in spring and summer, and almost none in winter to prevent rot. Use a very well-draining substrate specific for cacti. A common mistake is overwatering, which is the main cause of death for this species.
