Mexico (states of Coahuila, Nuevo León, and San Luis Potosí)
It requires direct and abundant sunlight for compact and healthy growth, avoiding excessive shade. Watering should be moderate in spring and summer, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, and very sparse or none in winter. Use a very well-draining substrate, specific for cacti, to prevent waterlogging. A common mistake is overwatering, which leads to root rot.
