About Opuntia lagunae
Opuntia lagunae, commonly known as Purple Prickly Pear, is an arborescent or shrubby cactus that can grow up to 4 meters tall, characterized by its green to deep purple pads (cladodes), especially under water or sun stress. Its fruits are dark purple tunas. It is ideal for xeriscape gardens, rock gardens, or as a standalone specimen in hot and dry climates, adding an exotic and low-maintenance touch.

It requires full sun for optimal growth and intense pad coloration. Watering should be sparse, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, especially in winter to prevent rot.
