About Desert zinnia
Zinnia acerosa, commonly known as Desert Zinnia or Spiny Zinnia, is a small zinnia native to arid regions of North America. It is characterized by its delicate, bright yellow flowers with darker centers, appearing in summer and fall, and its fine, somewhat spiny foliage. It's an excellent choice for rock gardens, xeriscaping, and as a groundcover in dry climates, adding a wild, resilient touch.

This Zinnia thrives in full sun and requires very well-drained soil; sandy or rocky soils are ideal. It is extremely drought-tolerant once established, so watering should be minimal or none, only during prolonged dry spells.
