About Curry plant
Helichrysum italicum, commonly known as the curry plant, is a perennial aromatic subshrub prized for its silvery foliage and distinctive curry-like scent. Its fine, linear leaves, covered in a soft down, give it a velvety appearance that contrasts beautifully in rock gardens, sunny borders, or pots. Beyond its ornamental appeal, it is highly valued in Mediterranean cuisine for its aroma, although it is not the source of curry powder.

Care tips
It thrives in full sun and requires well-drained soil, preferably sandy or stony, as it does not tolerate waterlogging. Watering should be moderate, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, and it is quite drought-tolerant once established. A common mistake is overwatering, which can lead to root rot; it also benefits from light pruning after flowering to maintain its compact shape and encourage new growth. It is not tolerant of severe frosts.
