About Dandelion
Taraxacum prionum, commonly known as the prairie dandelion, is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Asteraceae family. It is characterized by its deeply lobed leaf rosettes and vibrant yellow flowers that transform into fluffy seed heads. It is ideal for naturalistic gardens or as ground cover in sunny areas.
Care tips
It prefers full sun exposure for optimal flowering. Watering should be moderate, allowing the substrate to dry out slightly between waterings, although it tolerates periods of drought. It adapts to a wide range of soils, as long as they have good drainage. A common mistake is to try to eradicate it completely, as its deep roots make it very resilient and it regrows easily.
