Care, watering, light and tips for Dandelion on Floravia.
Taraxacum decorum, known as "snyggmaskros" in Swedish, is a dandelion species distinguished by its bright yellow flowers and basal foliage. Although often considered a 'weed,' its attractive leaf rosettes and vibrant blooms can brighten any sunny garden spot. It is ideal for naturalistic gardens, wild meadows, or to add a touch of spontaneous color.
It thrives in full sun for optimal flowering, though it can tolerate some partial shade. Watering should be moderate, allowing the topsoil to dry out between waterings, as it does not tolerate waterlogging. It adapts well to a wide range of soils but prefers well-drained and not overly rich substrates. A common mistake is attempting to eradicate it completely, missing the opportunity to appreciate its aesthetic and ecological value.
