About Dandelion
Taraxacum arvernum, known as Pissenlit d'Auvergne, is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Asteraceae family, native to the mountainous regions of Auvergne in France. It is characterized by its basal leaves arranged in a rosette and its distinctive yellow flowers forming solitary flower heads. While often mistaken for other dandelion species, this variety is particularly attractive in rock gardens or as part of wildflower meadows, adding a rustic and natural touch.

Care tips
It prefers full sun to partial shade exposure and well-drained soils, preferably calcareous or neutral. Watering should be moderate, allowing the substrate to dry slightly between waterings, although it tolerates short periods of drought once established. A common mistake is planting it in very clayey or poorly drained soils, which can lead to root rot. It does not require excessive fertilization, as it is a plant adapted to poorer soil conditions.
