About Johnsongrass
Sorghum halepense, commonly known as johnsongrass, is a vigorous perennial grass native to the Mediterranean, which has spread globally. Although often considered a weed, its tall stature and feathery panicles can possess a certain rustic charm in expansive natural landscapes. However, its aggressive growth makes it unsuitable for ornamental gardens.

Care tips
This species is extremely hardy and adaptable. It thrives in full sun and tolerates a wide range of soil types, from clay to sandy, as long as they have adequate drainage. Watering is not a concern, as it tolerates drought well once established. The most common mistake is attempting to cultivate it as a controlled ornamental plant; its invasive nature makes it very difficult to manage in small spaces.
