About Stipa juncea
Stipa juncea, also known as Rush Stipa or False Rush Stipa, is a perennial grass native to the Mediterranean region, valued for its elegant, fine, and upright foliage. It forms dense clumps of cylindrical leaves resembling rushes, adding a delicate texture and subtle movement to the landscape. It is ideal for rock gardens, sunny borders, or as part of a gravel garden, where its slender habit can stand out.

Care tips
This Stipa prefers full sun and well-drained soils, even poor or sandy ones, as it is very drought-tolerant once established. Watering should be sparse, especially in winter, to avoid waterlogging which can be fatal. Avoid heavy, clayey soils that retain too much moisture. It does not require fertilization, and a common mistake is overwatering, which makes it susceptible to root rot.
