About Water horsetail
Equisetum arvense x fluviatile, known as Ufer-Schachtelhalm or hybrid horsetail, is a natural hybrid between Equisetum arvense and Equisetum fluviatile. It features upright, hollow, and segmented bright green stems, with a distinctive appearance reminiscent of miniature bamboos. It is ideal for ponds, stream banks, or wet garden areas, adding an architectural texture and a prehistoric touch to the waterscape.

This hybrid horsetail thrives in full sun to partial shade and requires consistently moist or even submerged soil, making it perfect for water margins. It prefers nutrient-rich, well-draining substrates if not submerged, though it tolerates a wide range of soils. Watering is crucial: never let the substrate dry out completely. A common mistake is planting it in dry soils, which will lead to its decline.
