About Echinospartum boissieri
Echinospartum boissieri, commonly known as Piorno Fino, is a spiny, dense shrub endemic to the mountainous regions of southern Iberian Peninsula. Its intricate green branches and small yellow flowers, which appear in spring, make it ideal for rock gardens, xeriscaping, and as a low-maintenance plant in arid or hard-to-reach areas.

Care tips
It requires full sun for optimal growth and abundant flowering. It is extremely drought-tolerant, so watering should be minimal once established, only tolerating occasional watering during very dry periods. It prefers well-drained, poor, and rocky soils, strictly avoiding waterlogging. The most common mistake is overwatering, which can lead to root rot.
