About Judas tree
Cercis siliquastrum, commonly known as the Judas Tree or Love Tree, is a small to medium-sized deciduous tree renowned for its spectacular spring bloom. Before the leaves emerge, its branches are covered in intense pink-purple flowers, which sprout directly from the trunk and old branches (cauliflory). It is ideal as a specimen tree in small to medium-sized gardens, or to add a vibrant splash of color in parks and avenues.

Care tips
It prefers full sun exposure for optimal flowering, although it tolerates partial shade. It is quite drought-tolerant once established, but will appreciate regular watering during warmer months, especially in its first years. It requires well-drained, slightly alkaline or neutral soil; avoid very wet or clayey soils. A common mistake is over-pruning, as it does not tolerate it well and can affect its natural shape and flowering.
