About Yellow serradella
Ornithopus compressus, known as flat bird's-foot, is a small annual plant belonging to the legume family (Fabaceae). It is characterized by its delicate pinnate leaves and yellow flowers clustered in heads, which develop into curious flattened, segmented pods resembling a bird's foot. It's ideal for revegetating poor soils, rock gardens, or as a low-maintenance groundcover.

Care tips
It prefers full sun exposure and well-drained soils, even poor or sandy ones, as it is a species adapted to harsh conditions. Watering should be moderate, allowing the substrate to dry out between waterings, and it is quite drought-tolerant once established. Avoid waterlogging, as its roots are sensitive to excessive moisture. It does not require regular fertilization, as being a legume, it can fix atmospheric nitrogen.
