About Mesquite
Prosopis juliflora, known as Zépinard or Algaroba, is a fast-growing, spiny tree or shrub native to the Americas. It is characterized by its spreading branches, bipinnate leaves, and the production of sweet, edible pods. It is ideal for revegetation in arid and semi-arid areas, as a windbreak, or as a shade tree in rustic landscapes.

Care tips
It requires full sun exposure for optimal growth and abundant fruiting. It is extremely drought-tolerant once established, so watering should be sparse, especially in arid climates. It prefers well-drained soils, even poor and saline ones, and does not tolerate waterlogging. A common mistake is overwatering, which can lead to root rot.
