About Dewflower
Drosanthemum hispidum, commonly known as Hairy Dewflower, is a creeping succulent from the Aizoaceae family, native to South Africa. It is characterized by its small, fleshy leaves covered in translucent 'hairs' that give it a frosted appearance, and by its abundant pink or purple flowers that blanket the plant in spring and summer. It is ideal for ground cover, rockeries, low walls, or hanging baskets, adding a vibrant and resilient touch to dry or Mediterranean gardens.

Care tips
It requires full sun for optimal flowering and compact growth. Watering should be moderate during the growing season, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, and very scarce or none in winter. It prefers a very well-draining, sandy or gritty substrate to prevent waterlogging, which is its main enemy. A common mistake is overwatering, which leads to root rot.
