About Lampranthus sociorum
Lampranthus sociorum, commonly known as Mat Brightfig, is a low-growing, spreading perennial succulent native to South Africa. Its reddish stems and bright green, fleshy leaves form a dense mat that becomes covered with small pink or purple flowers in spring and summer. It is ideal for rockeries, ground cover in dry areas, or to add a splash of color to xeriscaped gardens.

Care tips
It requires full sun for abundant flowering and compact growth. Watering should be infrequent, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, as it is very susceptible to overwatering and rot. Use a very well-draining substrate, specific for succulents or cacti, mixed with coarse sand or perlite. Avoid waterlogging and persistent humidity at all costs, especially in winter, to prevent fungal diseases.
