Care, watering, light and tips for Ice plant on Floravia.
Delosperma congestum, also known as Clustered Ice Plant or Yellow Ice Plant, is a low-growing, creeping succulent native to South Africa. It forms dense mats of glossy, fleshy leaves, covered in spring and summer with a profusion of intense yellow flowers that open with the sun. It is ideal for rockeries, ground cover, low-maintenance gardens, and containers, providing a vibrant and drought-tolerant accent.

It requires full sun for optimal flowering and compact growth, although it tolerates some partial shade. Watering should be moderate, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, and very sparse in winter; waterlogging is its main enemy. Use a very well-draining, sandy, or succulent-specific substrate. Avoid overwatering at all costs, as it is extremely susceptible to root rot.
