About Areca palm
Areca catechu, commonly known as the betel nut palm or areca palm, is an elegant, single-stemmed palm with a slender trunk and pinnate leaves forming an attractive crown. It is valued for its ornamental appearance and is often found in tropical gardens or as an indoor plant in cooler climates, where it adds an exotic and vertical touch. Its slender silhouette makes it ideal for bright corners or as a focal point in patios.

Care tips
It requires bright, indirect light; direct sun exposure can scorch its delicate leaves. Watering should be regular, keeping the substrate moist but not waterlogged, and reducing frequency in winter. It prefers a well-drained substrate rich in organic matter, ideally a palm mix. A common mistake is overwatering, which can lead to root rot, or lack of ambient humidity, causing brown tips on the leaves.
