It prefers full sun to partial shade, especially in very hot climates where afternoon shade is beneficial. Watering should be regular and abundant during the growing and flowering period, keeping the substrate consistently moist but well-drained; reduce watering in winter. Use a substrate rich in organic matter and with good drainage. Avoid waterlogging, as the bulbs are prone to rot.
