About Ponytail palm
Beaucarnea hiriartiae, known as Ixtotl, is a slow-growing succulent native to Mexico, characterized by its swollen caudex at the base that stores water and its rosette-shaped foliage. Its sculptural appearance and hardiness make it ideal as a focal indoor plant or in xeriscape gardens in warm climates. It adds an exotic and low-maintenance touch to any space.

Care tips
It requires bright light, even direct sun, for optimal growth and to maintain the compact shape of its caudex. Watering should be sporadic and deep, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings to prevent root rot. Use a well-draining substrate, ideally a cactus and succulent mix. A common mistake is overwatering, which is the main cause of problems for this species.
