About Ponytail palm
Nolina robusta, commonly known as Soyate, is a perennial succulent native to Mexico, valued for its thickened base (caudex) that stores water and its long, narrow, cascading leaves. Its sculptural appearance and resilience make it ideal for low-maintenance gardens, xeriscape landscaping, or as a focal plant in large pots on sunny patios. It brings an exotic and desert-like touch to any space.

Care tips
It requires full, direct sunlight for optimal growth, although it can tolerate some partial shade in very hot climates. Watering should be sporadic and deep, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings, especially in winter to prevent caudex rot. Use a very well-draining substrate, preferably a cactus and succulent mix. A common mistake is overwatering, which is the main cause of this plant's demise.

- Overwatering is its biggest enemy. Ensure soil dries completely between waterings. Waterlogging rots its roots and trunk.
