Care, watering, light and tips for Ponytail palm on Floravia.
Nolina orbicularis, commonly known as Soyate, is a perennial succulent plant that forms a basal rosette of long, slender leaves emerging from a thickened, spherical caudex. Its sculptural appearance and hardiness make it ideal for xeriscape gardens, rockeries, or as an accent plant in large pots, adding an elegant desert touch.

It requires full sun for optimal growth, although it tolerates some partial shade in very hot climates. Watering should be infrequent, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, especially in winter to prevent caudex rot. Use a very well-drained substrate, preferably a cactus and succulent mix, and avoid overwatering at all costs, as it is the most common and fatal mistake for this species.
