Guarianthe skinneri, also known as the Guaria Morada, is the national flower of Costa Rica, cherished for its vibrant and abundant lavender-pink blooms. This epiphytic orchid produces clusters of up to 15 flowers on long stems, creating a stunning display. It is ideal for hanging baskets or mounted on tree fern slabs, where its aerial roots can thrive and its flowers can be admired in full glory.

Care tips
It requires bright, indirect light; direct sun exposure can scorch its leaves. Water thoroughly when the growing medium is almost dry, allowing it to dry out completely between waterings, and reduce frequency in winter. Use a well-draining orchid mix, such as fir bark or coconut fiber. A common mistake is overwatering, which can lead to root rot.
