About Spring crocus
Crocus vernus, commonly known as spring crocus or "vårkrokus" in Swedish, is a perennial bulbous plant from the Iridaceae family that heralds the arrival of spring with its vibrant cup-shaped flowers. Its delicate blooms, ranging in color from pure white and bright yellow to deep purple, emerge directly from the ground before tree leaves appear. It is ideal for naturalizing in lawns, under deciduous trees, in rock gardens, or in pots, creating spectacular carpets of color.

The Alps and the Carpathians in Central and Eastern Europe.
Care tips
It requires full sun to partial shade and well-drained, moderately fertile soil. Water moderately during the active growing period if rainfall is scarce, but drastically reduce watering once the foliage begins to yellow to prevent bulb rot. A common mistake is to cut the leaves before they have fully withered, which prevents the bulb from storing enough energy for the following year's bloom.
