About Variegated iris
Iris variegata, commonly known as the variegated iris or bearded iris, is a rhizomatous iris species prized for its distinctive bicolored flowers, typically featuring yellow upper petals and brown or purple lower petals. Its upright flower stalks and sword-shaped foliage make it ideal for sunny borders, rock gardens, and as a focal plant in flower beds. It brings a vibrant and exotic touch to the spring landscape.

Care tips
It requires full sun (at least 6 hours daily) for optimal flowering. Water moderately, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings, and avoid waterlogging, as rhizomes are prone to rot. It prefers well-drained, neutral to slightly alkaline soils with good aeration; a common mistake is burying the rhizome too deeply, as it should be partially exposed to the soil surface.
