Care, watering, light and tips for White henbane on Floravia.
White Henbane (Hyoscyamus albus) is an annual or biennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Solanaceae family, noted for its attractive funnel-shaped flowers, which are white or pale yellow, often with purple veins. Its leaves are soft and sticky, and the entire plant has a slightly hairy appearance. It is an excellent choice for rock gardens, path borders, or as an ornamental potted plant, adding a rustic and exotic touch.
Mediterranean region and Middle East
It prefers full sun to partial shade exposure and well-drained soils, preferably sandy or stony, tolerating drought once established. Water moderately, allowing the substrate to dry out between waterings to avoid waterlogging, to which it is sensitive. A common mistake is overwatering, which can lead to root rot. Be aware that, like many solanaceous plants, all parts of the plant are toxic if ingested.
